Free Software : Visual Alt/Tab

You do know that by pressing alt & tab together you can switch between open programs. This small utility that we offer is really useful, very useful. This program adds a graphical display with a screenshot of each open program. This program is compatible with (and a must with) Windows XP.
As always I have used this software for a week for before recommending it.

Freeware : YouTube Manager

MaxTube Player is a completely free application that allows you to view/bookmarks your favorite YouTube videos directly from the easy to use application. It even allows you to send a video to a friend via e-mail from a simple click.

I cannot take guarantee of any software, however, I do run a software for at least a week before I post them here. That is the least I can do for my visitors.

How cool would it be if you could download a whole website for offline browsing. There are a lot of high-cost software that will do the trick for you but I have a software for you that will cost you nothing. It is a freeware like no other and it does the trick for you nicely.
HTTrack is a free GPL software and easy-to-use offline browser utility. It allows you to download a World Wide Web site from the Internet to a local directory, building recursively all directories, getting HTML, images, and other files from the server to your computer. HTTrack arranges the original site's relative link-structure. Simply open a page of the "mirrored" website in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack can also update an existing mirrored site, and resume interrupted downloads. HTTrack is fully configurable, and has an integrated help system.

As time passes, develop your company into transport empire, keeping the economy running smoothly by delivering freight and satisifying the travel requirements of millions of passengers every month. Transport passengers, mail & goods by rail, road, ship, and even air. Every land has something different to offer. Take a good look at your surroundings ... its future lies in your and your competitors' hands.

In the beginning, it maybe easier to start by supplying a power station with required goods. Then, connect other factories, maybe even using central hubs where goods are reloaded. The disadvantage of only transporting goods is that towns and cities won't grow fast.

Alternatively, you may immediately go for passenger (and mail) transportation. This is more challenging, as the inhabitants of this world want to travel to locations they choose. Some need to go to factories for work, some want to go shopping at the large mall in the main town, and others sightseeing. If you don't offer a connection to their destination, they will not travel with you at all. You will need to build networks. When your networks are established, you will need to upgrade them to keep abreast of demand. So plan ahead. If passengers like your service, towns will grow and new industries will be established and only then will the economy run smoothly.

You can play as long as you like. Start in 1880 and finish in 2050. There will be new vehicles and buildings throughout this time. Play against the AI or on your own. Only if you are in debt for three months, you are bankrupt and the game is over.

Working with a lot of Mac users over the last few years I have realised that they just don't seem to have enough tools to do what is commonplace o windows and one of these is using a rar compression or the more upcoming 7zip format. Here is an opensourde program to get it done for you.

Uncompress RAR, 7zip, tar, and bz2 files on your Mac. Many new Mac users will be puzzled the first time they download a RAR file. Do them a favor and download UnRarX for them!

Release Notes

2007-09-02 Re-release which now includes Finnish and Estonian language DLLs. I aim for a release which will actually feature new functionality around the end of 2007, beginning of 2008. 2006-10-10 Another re-release which includes Dutch translation for WDS. Sorry to Gerben since I missed Dutch in the update from September - it should have been included there.

2006-09-06 A re-release of the installer and the ZIP archives was done. The content did not change in either case, but the installer now supports German in addition to English as the user interface language. The ZIP archives should be more compatible.
Note: the installer may not work on the very first edition of Windows 95. All Windows 95 users please provide us with feedback on that issue.

Free FLV Player

Most people don't need anything more than a Web browser and a Macromedia plug-in to watch Flash videos. However, if you want a hair's breadth more control over your viewing, this open-source freeware program will do the trick.
FLV Player's exceedingly simple controls allow you to navigate backward and forward through videos and play them in a loop. You can also adjust the volume, mute it, and adjust the size of the player. The Settings menu provides some basic control over program behavior, such as opening a new player window when double-clicking on an FLV file and remembering previous settings. And that's about it.
Our only major complaint is that the display window doesn't automatically resize to the size of your movie frame. We hope this problem will be remedied in future versions. FLV Player isn't a must-have by any stretch, but it's a decent tool for penny-pinching Flash developers.
